The Oscar Gift Lounge 2013
Salacia Salts is proud to have been invited to provide celebrity gifts at the Oscar Gift Lounge 2013 in California. We were able to snap some photos with some faces you may recognize too.
Mabelynn Capeluj, model and Miss Greater San Diego USA 2012 was crowned Miss California USA 2013 by Miss California USA 2012, Natalie Pack at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, Pasadena, California on January 13th, 2013. She recently attended the 2013 Oscars’ celebrity gift lounge where she was presented a Salacia Salts hand and body scrub. We trust she’ll use it to keep her gorgeous skin glowing!
Mabelynn is 21 years old, born and raised in San Diego California, and English is her second language. She is Argentinean and Mexican, a first generation American. Miss California 2013 lives in southern California. What’s next for her beauty career? She will go on to compete at Donald Trump’s Miss USA pageant this late spring/early summer. Mabelynn Capeluj is an aspiring television host and studying broadcast journalism at Chapman University. She is a working model for Wilhelmina models in Los Angeles.
Kevin Sorbo may have not taken home the golden Oscar but he won an evening of relaxation with our Southern Pecan salt soak. Born in Mound, Minnesota, we wonder if he has ever experienced such a nutty bathing routine. Sorbo started his acting career in the late 1980s making guest appearances in several television series such as 1st & Ten, Murder She Wrote and The Commish. In 1994, he shot to fame when he played the role of Hercules in the television film Hercules and the Amazon Women. This was the first in a series of television films that served as pilots for the TV series Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, which ran from 1995 to 1999. In 2006, he played a recurring role on the final season of The O.C and guest-starred in the sitcom Two and a Half Men. We love that this masculine character will be bold enough to plunge into a relaxing tub of soothing salts and pecan granules to take the edge off his daily routine.
Kate Linder, actress and key member of the top-rated daytime drama The Young and the Restless (her character is Esther Valentine) received a gift at the Oscars gift lounge from Salacia.
In 2005, Linder was elected to two terms as Governor of Daytime Programming Peer Group for the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (the folks who put on the Emmy Awards). In 2008, Linder received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Married on Valentine’s Day in 1976 (thus the character name, Esther Valentine), the couple soon settled in Los Angeles. Linder soon broke into the TV scene with guest starring roles in sitcoms and dramas. Linder is the celebrity spokesperson for the ALS Association, the pre-eminent leader in the fight against Lou Gehrig’s Disease, following her brother-in-law’s diagnosis. She is also on the board of AFTRA and Linder can be found most holidays serving food to the hungry and homeless at the Los Angeles Mission. In 2002, Linder spent Thanksgiving visiting troops in Afghanistan and Pakistan for 11 days, She spent Thanksgiving in Korea in 2003 doing the same work – and visiting Guantanamo Bay with the USO in 2007.
In her off time, Linder also became the first daytime actress to compete in the Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach celebrity car race. She didn’t win but she came in ahead – and unlike her fellow racers, her car didn’t have a scratch on it. Linder and her husband live a hectic life, rarely able to spend time together, but we sure hope she can enjoy a few quiet moments relaxing with our salts in her beautiful Los Angeles home.
Shahs of Sunset is an American reality television series on Bravo in the United States (and on OMNI in Canada). The series debuted in 2012 with 1.8 million total viewers watching the season finale. The series follows a group of Iranian American friends living in Beverly Hills (and the greater area known as “Tehrangeles”), who are trying to juggle their active social lives, up-and-coming careers and the demands of their families. Curently, the Shahs are in their third season on Bravo.
“GG” Gharachedaghi attended the 2013 Oscars and she was gifted our soothing salt soak in an upcycled bottle. She is an entrepreneur who begins the show unemployed and financially dependent on her father. She lunches with her friends during the day and socializes at night. She has eight tattoos, including one on the inside of her lip. We hear she’s a feisty one – so hopefully she’ll enjoy and treat herself to a quiet evening, relaxing in the scents of the South and sea.
