Our Magnolia Fragrance
Magnolia was one of the first fragrances we launched when starting our body care brand. Because our business started in Savannah, the city of magnificent mossy oaks and glorious magnolias, it was quite obvious this was the right fragrance for us to use in our salt soaks and scrubs. A big challenge was actually capturing the fresh notes of a newly opened magnolia blossom. After months of testing and research, we landed on a fragrance that is creamy with a touch of lemon, earthy elements, creating a blend of sparkling, uplifting notes. Salacia celebrates this fragrance when the flowers begin to appear, from April to June.
So, what’s so special about this beautiful tree? Magnolia grandifloras are from an ancient family of Earth’s first flowering plants! How amazing is that? Southern magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora), also called evergreen magnolia, bull-bay, big-laurel, or large-flower magnolia, grow in an area that extends from eastern North Carolina, south along the Atlantic Coast to the Peace River in central Florida, then westward through the southern half of Georgia, Alabama, and Mississippi, and across Louisiana into southeast Texas. They are most prevalent in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas. No matter their location, parking lot or plantation, magnolia grandifloras are grand. The tree has stiff, ‘lacquered’ dark green leaves, and suede-like texture on the underside. It produces large silky looking white flowers with noble seed heads, or cone-like fruit.
Salacia’s Magnolia Salt Soak provides relaxation for those seeking relief from tension and muscle aches. With a fresh hint of citrus, this soothing combination is truly reminiscent of the South. Made with Dead Sea and 100% pure Atlantic sea salts, this uplifting blend of natural fragrance and pure essential oils, is citrusy and floral. Soak to clear the mind, rejuvenate your skin and soothe tired muscles.
Our Magnolia body care products are 99% natural, vegan, phthalate, petrochemical, paraben, and sulfate free.
What’s more perfect for the Southern hostess than a Magnolia lotion, hand wash or scrub for the kitchen? Pair it up with a linen tea towel! It’s a great gift idea for those who enjoy time in the kitchen or a day in the garden, or a housewarming gift for the couple who has everything.
